Job Summary
Responsible for assuring products conform to established requirements and standards through appropriate audit, inspection, and test activities. Interacts with many different functional departments, suppliers, and experts.
 

Principal Duties & Responsibilities
  • Participates as the quality representative in cross functional project teams and provides leadership for new product development and process improvement projects from concept through design, implementation, testing, documentation, support and maintenance.  Supports design projects particularly in areas of risk analysis and ensuring design requirements and documentation are complete.
  • Participates in design reviews at various levels to communicate complaint and failure tendencies and make recommendations for future designs.
  • Support existing products and participates on existing product/process improvement projects:
    • Reviews and approves document changes, deviations and dispositions nonconforming product.
    • Develops and implements corrective/preventive action plans.
  • Formulates procedures, specifications and standards products and processes.
  • Lead/Conduct supplier audits and internal audits and maintain audit documentation.
  • Interacts with suppliers on new product designs and process improvements to ensures suppliers have necessary process controls and documentation to deliver quality products.
  • Collect and analyze data and documentation.


Expected Areas of Competence (KSA's)
  • Ability to work within a team environment and build relationships outside of the department as well as outside the company (suppliers, regulatory agencies, etc.).
  • Facilitates team efforts on quality engineering projects.
  • Ability to deliver, meet deadlines and have results orientation.
  • Able to communicate both orally and in written form to multiple levels of the company.


Education/Experience Requirements
  • B.S. in engineering or an alternative Bachelor's degree program with certification as a quality engineer (e.g. CQE)
  • 3-5 years experience in a Quality Engineering role.
  • Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) preferred.
